What Sheet2Chart does instead

Upload the CSV or Excel file as it is. KPIs, charts and filters are proposed from the columns in about a minute. Ask a question in plain English and the answer shows the measure, grouping and filters used, so a reader can check it without asking the author. Share a link.

The trade is the same one every comparison on this site comes back to: an upload is a snapshot, not a connection. For a report that should refresh itself from a Google Sheet, Looker Studio is the better tool. For the export you were handed this morning, the upload is faster and easier to check.

The marketing dashboard guide is a good place to start if your data is campaign exports, which is where Looker Studio users most often begin.

Frequently asked questions

Is Looker Studio free?

Yes, the standard version is free with a Google account. Google also sells a Pro tier with team workspaces and support. Sheet2Chart is free while in beta.

Can Looker Studio read an Excel file?

Not directly. The usual route is to import the workbook into Google Sheets and connect that, or export a CSV and use the file-upload connector. Sheet2Chart reads the XLSX as uploaded.

Which one is better for a report that runs every month?

Looker Studio, if the source is a Google Sheet or a connected system that updates itself. A report you build once stays current. Sheet2Chart is a snapshot per upload, which suits a one-off export better than a recurring one.

Does Looker Studio show how a number was calculated?

Calculated fields are visible to the report editor. A viewer sees the chart. Sheet2Chart shows the calculation under each answer to anyone with the link.
